Advantages and disadvantages of rotary evaporator

Vacuum distillation using standard glass components (without a rotary distillation device) can also be used to distill the sample, but evaporation has the following advantages:
1. Due to the evaporation and interaction of the liquid sample, the centripetal force of the bottle is related to the friction force. The liquid sample bottle evaporates on the surface to form a liquid film and heats the area;
2. The rotation of the sample suppresses the force generated by the boiling sample.
Summarizing the characteristics of its facilities, modern rotary evaporators can be used for rapid and gentle distillation of most samples, even without operator experience.
The biggest disadvantage of rotary evaporator application is that some boiling samples such as ethanol and water will cause the experimenter to lose the sample. When operating, boiling is usually prevented during the distillation process of the vacuum pump during the mixing stage by carefully adjusting the working intensity or increasing the temperature of the hot pan.
Or anti-boiling particles can be added to the sample. Samples that are particularly difficult to distill, including easy-to-produce foam samples, can also be equipped with specialized rotary evaporator condensers.
