Introduction to rotary evaporators

The rotary evaporator can be used to recover and evaporate organic solvents. It uses a motor to drive the distillation bottle to rotate. Because the still is constantly rotating, it can avoid adding zeolite without boiling. At the same time, due to continuous rotation, the liquid is attached to the wall of the still, forming a liquid film, which increases the evaporation area and accelerates the evaporation speed. Note when using:
(1) In vacuum distillation, when the temperature is high and the vacuum degree is high, the liquid in the bottle may boil violently. At this point, the vacuum should be reduced to allow smooth distillation.
(2) When stopping evaporation, first stop the heating, then stop the vacuum, and finally cut off the power to stop the rotation.
