Household small freeze dryer principle
Freeze-drying is to freeze a substance containing a large amount of moisture into a solid by cooling it in advance, and then directly sublimate the water vapor under vacuum conditions, while the substance itself remains in the ice shelf during freezing, so its volume does not change after drying. Loose and porous materials absorb heat during sublimation. It causes the temperature of the product itself to drop and slows down the sublimation speed. In order to increase the sublimation speed and shorten the drying time, the product must be properly heated. The entire drying is performed at lower temperatures.
